DiStefano wines were a gift from Mark Newton, founder and owner of the winery, to his wife Donna DiStefano. The winery was established in 1983 being one of the first 5 wineries in Woodinville, now known as Woodinville Wine Country and home to more than 100 wineries and tasting rooms. The winery produced high quality white and red wines made from classic varietals grown in Washington State such as Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah for many years and recently switched its focus to vermouths and sparkling wines.
The Woodinville tasting room closed its doors back in June of 2022. However, it did not take long for Mark to miss the activities and excitement in making wine so he has come back and have placed his winemaking license at the new and exciting Winemakers Reserve in Woodinville.
The Winemakers Reserve is a collective of a handful of wineries where he is making wine with their cellar crew under my direction using some of the latest state of art winemaking equipment, tanks, ovals, barrels, etc. This let’s Mark keep control of the vineyards, his winemaking philosophy and wine quality. Mark is focusing on high end Cabs, Sauvignon Blanc, Sparkling Wine and our Vermouths.
